In 2010, the Bernas’ purchased Moore’s Chapel Funeral Home, a Fayetteville institution providing funeral planning and services since 1889. Together Scott and Paula feel blessed to offer their focus, empathy and guidance to families as they celebrate and honor their loved ones. He is married to Rose Carol Smithson and has two children, Jamey Smithson and Leslie Fett and six grandchildren. He enjoys spending time with his family and flying his airplane. Mark graduated with a degree in funeral service from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale in 1983. They have two children, Gennie and Elizabeth, and a grandson David Slade.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 17, 2022 at 2-P.M. Mr. James Gilpin, age 84 of Fayette, passed away December 14, 2022. Funeral services will be held Sunday, December 18, 2022 at 3-P.M. Mrs. Jane Crowley, age 72 of Fayette, passed away December 15, 2022 at Fayette Medical Center.
During their free time, Scott and Paula enjoy spending time with family. Paula feels called to help families through the important process of pre-planning and worked as a prearrangement counselor in Oklahoma City and in Northwest Arkansas. Today, Paula manages the Fairview Memorial Gardens in Fayetteville. Scott went on to obtain his Funeral Directors license from the state of Arkansas in 1985. John Robinson, age 59, of Gaylord, MI passed away on Friday, November 25, 2022. His family wishes to remember him privately at this time and will be planning something in the spring. Scott gained valuable experience managing funeral homes and cemeteries throughout the region including Longview, Texas and Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. In 1999, Scott was offered the opportunity to move back to Arkansas to manage Nelson’s Funeral Home and Crematory and Fairview Memorial Gardens. His wife, Sandra, is originally from Fayetteville, and the couple moved here from southeast Arkansas in 2019. Robert began his career in funeral service at Edwards Funeral Home in Fort Smith in 1988 while in high school. He graduated from the Dallas Institute of Funeral Service and received his Embalmers and Funeral Directors license in Arkansas in 1990. Bobby attended mortuary school and the University of Arkansas in Hope and went on to obtain a bachelor’s in business management and a Master’s in Business Administration.
Edwin Arthur Estelle, age 84, passed away on December 7, 2022, surrounded by family at St. Mary’s Hospital in Saginaw, Michigan after a lengthy battle against a blood disorder. Ed was born on April 9, 1938, to Arthur and Alice Estelle, on the Estelle Centennial Farm, west of Gaylord. Mrs. Lynn Gillis Dykes age 63 of Fayette, passed away Sunday, December 4, 2022 at her residence. Mr. Marlon Fields age 82 of Fayette, passed away Monday, December 5, 2022 at DCH Hospital in Tuscaloosa.
She is a native to Rogers, AR, and a graduate of Rogers Heritage High School. Megan worked as a professional makeup artist for 5 years before pursuing a dream to become a funeral director and embalmer. Megan was drawn to funeral service after having a desire to help people in their time of need. In 2020, Megan graduated Magnum Cum Laude from Arkansas State University Mountain Home earning a degree in Mortuary Science. Pamela McCaleb Dozier, 62, passed away peacefully of natural causes surrounded by all her family and loved ones.
